In my own words

”I’ve been taking photos as long as I can remember. On family trips as a kid, I’d always confiscate the camera. It wasn’t uncommon to see little me running up to people and snapping a quick photo with one of those old disposable film cameras. What started out as fun and games soon became a hobby, and that hobby inspired me to go to the best place to learn photography in the industry- Hallmark Institute of photography. I am proud to share the stories of people from the area I grew up, as well as the stories and beauty of this region, this state, and this world we all share.”

What I believe . . .

… is that photography today has lost its heart. The widespread availability of cameras in smartphones combined with the low cost of great camera gear has cheapened the medium and detracted from the story-telling roots it once had. I want to change that. I believe photographs should tell stories.

And that everyone deserves to be represented. Access to high quality images that reflect your true self should be accessible to all. Every service I offer is gender affirming and inclusive. I take special care to make sure you’re comfortable every step of the way, regardless of how you identify.

About

Tom has been capturing the people and places of the Susquehanna Valley for 20 years. Growing up in the heart of Amish country, he quickly grew an affinity for nature and that affinity is what eventually evolved into his career. Seeking knowledge, adventure, and beauty, Tom moved to Massachusetts in 2009 after years of self-improvement, to attend Hallmark Institute of Photography. He graduated the real-world based, accelerated program a year later, but his journey to learn and explore the world continues to this day. Tom’s love for hiking feeds his need for exploration. Whether its hiking into the unknown with his camera and equipment to uncover beautiful scenery or capturing a new family’s first photos; Tom feels at home. He moved to Lititz in 2018 and sees capturing its beauty as a priority. His Lititz Community Choice Calendar has become a Lititz obsession since it’s introduction in 2022.

What I do

I’m obsessed with quality. From portraits to landscapes. From teaching workshops to retail service and beyond. My goal is to make sure that my clients and customers are getting the best possible work I can provide at fair pricing with quality service.

When I approach a project, the first thing I do is plan. I plan out the entire session, shoot, contract, or job. Every piece gets planned out and rehearsed. I visit the location, create a shot and action list, and do a practice run of everything planned. After the project, I have a completely clear line of communication with my clients. I provide a back and forth dialogue during the image selection process and offer digital image delivery immediately upon completion, as well as gallery quality prints. My workflow has been designed specifically to focus on quality and adaptability.

I offer a wide array of portrait services tailored to fit any need. I capture events (both cooperate and private) and sell gallery quality prints. I capture the beauty of nature. Likely, if there’s a photography service you need, I can provide it.
